![]() The Faculty of Environment and Natural Resources of the University of Freiburg invites applications for a Full Professorship (W3) for Applied Geochemistryin the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences to be immediately filled. This professorship is also particularly suitable for highly qualified early career researchers. The professorship is directly involved in the subject of applied geochemistry in both research and teaching as-pects. The focus of research is on the quantification of mass transfer and mass transport processes between rocks, minerals and fluids in the Earth's crust and other parts of the Earth system. Fields of activity of applied research can be in the characterization of raw materials including secondary deposits, in the field of fluid-based processes (transport of contaminants, CO2 storage, geothermal energy), effects of landfilling on the environment (final disposal, mining damage) or the reconstruction of environmental conditions (aerosols and geogenic emis-sions). A willingness to participate in cooperation within the faculty (especially in its established research fields) and university is required. In teaching, the professorship contributes mainly to the B.Sc. program in Geosciences and to the M.Sc. pro-gram in Geology and covers the whole field of geochemistry of the lithosphere and the Earth's surface including trace element and isotope geochemistry. In addition, participation in labs and field trips is expected. In addition, involvement in interdisciplinary teaching in the Faculty of Environment and Natural Resources is desirable. Prerequisites for the employment of Professors are a university degree, an outstanding dissertation and an ex-cellent publication record. Substantial achievements and experience in academic research and teaching, at the level of a Habilitation according to the German academic system, are expected.
