About the Roles
Due to our continued success in attracting new business, our immediate need is to appoint experienced mapping geologists with project management experience and high-level computer skills for our Saudi Arabia Technical Partner Project for the Saudi Geological Survey. Applicants must have field-based mapping skills in a range of geological environments, especially in areas of high-grade basement terranes with a complex tectonic history. The role will include the supervision of geological mapping contractors and apply quality control measures and certify contractors' deliverables on behalf of the client. Applicants will also be required to assist management and where necessary, lead the IGS mapping/quality-control team. The roles involve a high level of working effectively in a team.
The successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:
You must be prepared to travel extensively to a variety of countries. In the case of Saudia Arabia, you must be willing to work in the country for up to a total of 8 months of the year on a rotational or semi-permanent basis.
Pay and Conditions
These are full-time roles of 40 hours per week. We offer a competitive salary of between £45,000 to £68,600 (depending on experience). In the case of Saudi Arabia, generous tax-free allowances for working in the country are also paid. Where employees live in Saudi Arabia on a semi-permanent basis, terms and conditions will reflect this. We also offer 25 days annual leave with the opportunity to buy and sell leave; 5% employee/employer pension contributions, time off in lieu and remote working. Eligibility to work and live in the UK will be essential.
Consideration may be given to applicants interested in working on a contractor basis for IGS, which would be subject to separate negotiations and agreement.
