PhD Position in Sediment Dynamics

The Department of Oceanography, Inha University, Korea is searching for a PhD candidate who will improve our understanding of the behavior of sandpit (generated by sand mining) and its impact on hydrodynamics and sediment transport. The project will employ both field observation and sediment transport model (ROMS/COAWST) in the macro-tidal Gyeonggi Bay of Korea.

We encourage you to apply if you have:

  • a MS degree in oceanography/earth sciences, engineering, physical geography, or a related field;
  • field and/or modelling experience in estuarine, coastal and shelf environments;
  • proficiency in English for both oral and writing;
  • ability to work independently, willingness to learn new skills, and teamwork in a multi-cultural environment;
  • willingness to learn Korean during your PhD up to TOPIK level 4.
