Petroleum Geoscience MSc

Develop your knowledge and skills to pursue a career in the energy industry, working in exploration for oil and gas, and future mitigation measures such as carbon sequestration, as well as other energy industries, such as geothermal and nuclear. You'll develop the skills to communicate with exploration geologists and production engineers.

Geoscience for Sustainable Energy MSc

This master's trains the next-generation of geoscientists with the skills needed to ensure the long-term, sustainable supply and storage of low-carbon energy. Upon graduation, you'll be able to demonstrate a broad understanding of all subsurface geoscience applications, alongside an in-depth technical knowledge of sedimentary geoscience and geophysics, rock mechanics, fluid flow and pore evolution. You'll be equipped to join the energy sector, in the fields of petroleum geoscience, carbon storage, geothermal, nuclear waste disposal and gas/compressed air storage.

Pollution and Environmental Control MSc

This course is the longest established environment/pollution related MSc in the UK and will equip you with a strong grounding in the quantitative, qualitative and communications skills required to address environmental questions, in addition to subject-specific knowledge and understanding.

Data Science (Environmental Analytics) MSc

This innovative MSc in Data Science course is an opportunity for graduates from a broad range of disciplines to develop data science skills. Our goal is to help you develop into an agile, skilled data scientist, adept at working in a variety of settings and be able to meet the challenges and reap the rewards of interdisciplinary team work. Its primary aim is to understand and respond to the complex interactions between the environment, climate, natural ecosystems, human social and economic systems, and health.
