The Department of Industry, Tourism and Trade (DITT) works in partnership with business and industry to develop and broaden the Northern Territory's economic base through investment attraction, business and workforce growth.

Positioned within the Mining and Energy Division of DITT, the Northern Territory Geological Survey (NTGS) is the custodian of knowledge and data on the Territory's geology and resources, and undertakes activities to support and grow the mineral and petroleum exploration industry. This includes Resourcing the Territory, a $9.5 million annual ongoing program providing pre-competitive geoscience, investment attraction and exploration stimulus programs designed to increase exploration activity, success rates, and open up new areas of the Territory for exploration.

As the Senior Spatial Systems Analyst, your primary objective is to provide high-level, specialist advice, technical expertise and project management services relating to spatial systems development and management. Your key duties involve providing expertise in the analysis, development, and interoperability of systems, and technical leadership in the development and continuous improvement of spatial systems management.

To be successful, you are required to have substantial experience as a systems analyst in developing, integrating and managing spatial applications and business intelligence systems, within a scientific environment. Proven coding experience with contemporary IT programming languages and advanced SQL in both network and web environments. Tertiary qualifications in IT, spatial science or geoscience will be well received.
