The Chair of Tectonics and Resources at the Institute of Geology, Mineralogy and Geophysics is searching for a

Research Associate (m,f,x) for 3 years, 39,83 hours per week, TVL E13

The Tectonics and Resources Group at the Institute of Geology, Mineralogy and Geophysics invites applications for a research associate position (TV-L E13) with a focus on the geodynamic evolution of Precambrian mountain belts and/or the formation of hydrothermal ore deposits contained within them. The appointment is initially for three years. The starting date is March 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Your tasks:

The successful applicant is expected to conduct research in the area of expertise, publish in internationally accredited journals and obtain external research funds. Other work responsibilities include teaching at the BSc and MSc level. The load of teaching will be calculated according to §3 of Lehrverpflichtungsverordnung (state of North Rhine-Westphalia).

Your profile:

Applicants (m/f/x) should have a doctoral degree in Earth Sciences and a strong background in tectonics, petrology and/or economic geology. The successful candidate will also have an ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment, good inter-personal skills, and possess excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
