University Assistant for Mineralogy/HydroGeochemistry
The Institute of Applied Geosciences at Graz University of Technology invites applications for a 6 years full-time University Assistant position for Mineralogy/Hydrogeochemistry.
The field of research activity is focused on the precipitation and transformation of minerals in natural and man-made environments. Main aspects are referred to complex water-mineral/rock interactions and in particular to decipher individual physicochemical conditions for past and tailored mineral formation by applying a broad set of analytical tools for mineralogical, chemical, isotopic, and microstructural characterization, as well as modelling approaches (e.g. ICP, EMP, XRD, Raman, FTIR, SEM/TEM, LA(MC)-ICP-MS, CT, PHREEQC).
We seek for a highly motivated researcher with a doctorate in Geosciences/ Mineralogy/Chemistry or related fields. The position involves teaching in (Applied) Mineralogy, Hydrogeochemistry and Petrology. Experience in analytical and experimental approaches are highly appreciated.
Qualified female researches are strongly encouraged to apply.
The position is anticipated to start from October 1st, 2021. Applications including curriculum vitae and statement of research interests with reference code 2210/21/004 should be submitted latest by May 31th, 2021, to Univ.-Prof. Dr. Martin Schanz, Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Rechbauerstrasse 12, 8010 Graz, Austria (firstname.lastname@example.org).
