A person with extensive experience in biogeochemical modeling at the field scale is sought as part of a research project funded by the German Federal Foundation for the Environment (https://www.tu.berlin/en/hydrogeologie/research/current-research-projects/viruses-in-bank-filtration-in-situ-monitoring-and-risk-management-especially-under-the-influence-of-extreme-weather-events-virumex). VIRUMEX has the goal to analyze the transport of pathogens and to develop a risk assessment for river bank filtration sites. The planned work will be carried out in close collaboration with cooperation partners at the Environmental Research Center Leipzig as well as different water works, including the Berliner Wasserbetriebe.

Working field: The working group of the Department of Hydrogeology investigates the sustainable management of water resources as well as the complex behavior of pathogens and microorganisms in the environment. The future position holder is integrated in an interdisciplinary working group of engineers and natural scientists.
