The Coastal Marine Ecosystem Research Centre (CMERC) facilitates collaborative research projects focussed on delivering practical outcomes that help maintain and enhance marine and coastal biodiversity, function and heritage, ranging from catchments to the outer Great Barrier Reef. Position Requirements:

  1. PhD in applied ecology, preferably in marine systems (a focus on seagrass ecology desirable).
  2. Experience in field and lab-based marine research.
  3. Demonstrated ability and expertise in undertaking comprehensive investigative research work, data analysis and interpretation, and preparation of research reports and papers.
  4. Proven ability to publish in international peer reviewed scientific literature.
  5. High-level interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively and in multidisciplinary teams and provide guidance and oversight of others involved in project-based work.
