EIT RawMaterials, initiated and funded by the EIT (European Institute of Innovation and Technology), a body of the European Union, is the largest consortium in the raw materials sector worldwide. Its vision is to develop raw materials into a major strength for Europe. Its mission is to enable sustainable competitiveness of the European minerals, metals and materials sector along the value chain by driving innovation, education and entrepreneurship.

EIT RawMaterials unites more than 120 core and associate partners and 180+ project partners from leading industry, universities and research institutions from more than 20 EU countries. Partners of EIT RawMaterials are active across the entire raw materials value chain; from exploration, mining and mineral processing to substitution, recycling and circular economy. They collaborate on finding new, innovative solutions to secure the supplies and improve the raw materials sector in Europe.

There are six regional Innovation Hubs in Belgium, Finland, France, Italy, Poland and Sweden, called Co- Location Centres (CLCs) that represent different regional ecosystems connecting industry, research and education.

EIT RawMaterials is the manager of the newly established European Raw Materials Alliance (ERMA). ERMA ( was launched by the European Commission on 29 September 2020 as an open and inclusive alliance that provides an and independent forum for discussion and analysis, as well as a mechanism for translating potential projects into actual activities and infrastructures that will contribute to creating long-lasting added value and jobs for Europe.


To manage and develop the projects and activities related to ERMA, EIT RawMaterials is currently recruiting one full-time Project Specialist (m/f/d). The Project Manager will be based in Berlin.

In this position, you will:

  • Provide administrative support to the Director of ERMA
  • Organise team and stakeholder meetings, conferences, webinars and events
  • Serve as a point of contact for matters related to ERMA
  • Take minutes, file documents and maintain various databases and archives
  • Document and follow up on important actions and decisions from meetings
  • Proactively connect to and liaise with respective ERMA partners, national innovation programs, and national government bodies across Europe to contribute to the strategic positioning and financial sustainability of ERMA
  • Monitor and gather knowledge and investment opportunities in the sector. Monitor respective technical as well as policy and business-related developments on a global scale
  • Support the development of institutional relationships and identify synergies with other organisations
  • Develop publications and communication materials
  • Represent ERMA in relevant activities, when required.


  • A Master's degree in a relevant field. Experience and interest in raw materials and their applications will be highly regarded
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Advanced computer literacy with good knowledge of business software applications (MS Office)
  • Ability to work efficiently and to tight deadlines
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills Personal attributes:
