in Analytical Hydrochemistry - Environmental Chemistry

The part-time position (19.9 hours per week, TV-L13/50 %) is to be filled on April 1, 2023 and is limited to September 30, 2024.

The Department of Applied Geology at the Geosciences Center (GZG) of the Georg-August-University Göttingen is looking for a Research Associate (all genders welcome) to participate in current research projects and support teaching (5 SWS) in the field of hydrogeochemistry and analytical methods. The research work includes hydrochemical investigations (e.g. with ion chromatography, LC-MS, GC-MS, laser spectrometry) and the development of new analysis methods.

We are looking for a motivated person with a very good academic degree (doctorate would be an advantage) with a focus on instrumental chemical analysis and experience in research and teaching in the field of hydrochemistry, environmental chemistry and method development. We expect relevant experience in hydrochemical analysis as well as the development and application of new methods to solve current hydrogeochemical research questions. In addition, you have experience in the training of students and in the operation and maintenance of analytical devices as well as routine work protocols and quality controls. We require analytical thinking and experience in the interpretation of series of measurements as well as in the presentation of scientific results. The position can be used for your own further professional qualification. Very good knowledge of German and English is required. Creative thinking, innovative ability and the ability to work both in a team and independently are also beneficial for the application.
