Working field: The working group of the Department of Hydrogeology deals with the sustainable management of water resources as well as the complex behavior of water constituents and microorganisms in the environment. The future job holder is integrated in an interdisciplinary working group of engineers and natural scientists.
A person with extensive experience in experimental hydrochemical methods and laboratory experiments is sought for a 3-year DFG-funded research project focusing on real-time prediction of nitrate degradation in intensively used agricultural regions. Willingness to analyze the results using biogeochemical modeling is also desirable. The planned work will be carried out in close collaboration with cooperating partners at the Polytechnic University of Milan and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). The possibility of a PhD is given.

Furthermore, good knowledge of the English language as well as good knowledge of German or the willingness to learn it and first experience in publishing research results are advantageous.
